What Is Selective Certification?
Candidates who are interested in being considered for assignments or positions requiring additional or specialized qualifications (that is, are interested in being selectively certified) and who meet the requirements may apply for Selective Certification.
NYC DCAS Exams
Current & Upcoming Exams
You may view the Annual Civil Service Exam Applications Schedule to see examinations that will be accepting applications in the upcoming months. Exams for which applications are currently being accepted may be found in the monthly Monthly Exam Applications Schedule or within the tables below, including those exams offered at our Computer-based Testing & Applications Centers (CTACs). Please refer to the dates within the tables below when applying for and taking these exams. The application period for new civil service exams generally begins on the first Wednesday of each month. All applicants should apply online at the Online Application System (OASys) or if you don’t own or have access to a computer, you may use a computer at a CTAC to apply and schedule yourself for one or more of these exams. Follow the instructions on the Notice of Examination or review the FAQs on OASys for assistance.
DCAS Exam Results 2017
The Notice of Results for Sanitation Worker, Exam No. 5001 are being mailed to the address of record. You should receive your results via U.S. mail in approximately three weeks. You can call our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) line at 212-669-1357 after Sunday, September 27th for your exam results.

Apply for exams online: Go to the DCAS Online Application System (OASys) at www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs and follow the onscreen application instructions for electronically submitting your application and payment, and completing any required forms. If you do not have access to a computer, visit one of our Computer-based Testing & Applications Centers (CTACs) to use our computers to submit your application (see below).Apply and schedule yourself for computer-based exams online: Go to the DCAS Online Application System (OASys) at www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs to apply and schedule yourself to take a computer-based exam offered at the CTACs.
